Network management in the cloud

Mobile and cloud computing trends have shifted the responsibilities associated with network management, according to a recent Enterprise Networking Planet blog post. Cloud infrastructure performance has matched the level of service of traditional resources, causing many businesses to shift the responsibility of infrastructure management to their cloud providers. However, this doesn’t mean enterprise IT is completely "off the hook," so to speak.

IT still needs to make sure performance concerns are taken care of as they choose solutions. IT departments must work with cloud providers and their businesses to ensure the vendor can deliver performance. According to the article, application management solutions provide the network visibility that is necessary to identify when applications in a cloud infrastructure are causing problems for the network.
