Xangati: Virtualization Management Podcast – Episode 196

In episode 196, Douglas Brown interviews Jagan Jagannathan, Founder and CTO at Xangati. Jagan and Douglas discuss the Xangati’s cloud performance management solution, the different technologies within, why they built it, how it works, why we should care, and much more!

About Xangati

Xangati is the recognized leader in cloud infrastructure and VDI performance management solutions. The Xangati management dashboard product suite is a set of solutions to assure mission-critical business applications are being delivered in highly dynamic infrastructures that include virtualization and private and public clouds.

The Xangati VI Dashboard

The Xangati VI Dashboard tracks all the virtual and physical infrastructure components—including applications—that affect virtual infrastructure performance. It leverages Xangati’s unique performance management engine to keep an administrator proactively apprised of the live and continuous health of their infrastructure without requiring software agents.

Xangati VDI Dashboard

The Xangati VDI Dashboard is the industry’s first solution to comprehensively track all key infrastructure components that affect VDI performance for both VMware View and Citrix XenDesktop environments. The VDI dashboard leverages Xangati’s tight integrations with VMware and Citrix to present end-to-end session statistics for PCoIP and HDX (ICA) and to track end-users without requiring guest-level software agents.

Xangati Stormtracker

StormTracker is the industry’s first solution to tackle performance storms devastating productivity in the cloud. Even the best run clouds environments are hit by storms of all kinds: storage storms, CPU storms, memory storms, agent storms, boot storms and many more that can have a slow and even crippling effect on application and end-user performance. With StormTracker, you can immediately identify storms with second-by-second insights, proactively track the impact across the converged, shared server+hypervisor, storage and network infrastructure, and know how to quickly remediate them.

Xangati SDN Dashboard

Xangati has long provided the most granular solution for monitoring virtual networks whereby end-to-end network interactions between any pair of endpoints and their use of network interfaces can be seen in real time on a second by second basis. This capability is extended with the all-new SDN Dashboard. This new dashboard places the same dedicated focus on virtual networks that our VI and VDI Dashboards place on the virtualized infrastructure and virtualized desktops. The SDN Dashboard is ideal for network administrators who need end-to-end visibility into the virtual world and anyone who needs second-by-second monitoring of virtual networks.

Xangati MyDashboard is a customizable “mini-Dashboard” that focuses on administrator-defined subsets of the infrastructure. This is ideal for situations where a group of VMs support a single application (such as email or a database cluster) and there is a desire to have a small, dedicated dashboard to view just these VMs. Other examples are the ability for a storage administrator to look at a group of specific data stores or the ability for a network administrator to look at a specific set of virtual network interfaces. MyDashboard can be shared with application owners or other stakeholders to provide them insight, reports, and status on just the VMs (or other objects) they own.
