VMware: Unleashing Creativity With the Digital Workspace

“Everyone should have the flexibility to use the digital tool they prefer with the freedom they desire to express their creativity,” says Sumit Dhawan, VMware senior vice president and general manager, End-User Computing.

But a challenge in the face of flexibility and creativity has traditionally been the fragmented nature of IT environments. There has been little, if any, consistency in the management of, or the user experience across desktop, mobile, and cloud.

To work successfully across these different environments, employees have to navigate “continuous layers of complexity,” says Dhawan. “This isn’t a sustainable model.” Furthermore, to tame the marginal costs arising from these silos, there is a need to have a unified management approach across the various platforms, which also helps to ensure consistency of  IT and employee experiences. And to do that, Dhawan says, “you need a platform.”

The Workspace ONE Platform

In 2016, VMware introduced VMware Workspace ONE™,  a digital workspace platform that delivers any app, to any device, with consumer simplicity and enterprise security.

At VMworld 2017 in Las Vegas, Dhawan and VMware’s CTO of End-User Computing, Shawn Bass, delivered a keynote to reiterate the value of a platform approach, showcasing the strengths and new capabilities of the Workspace ONE platform.

Unleashing Creativity

Workspace ONE reinvents the relationship between end user and employer to unleash the creativity and productivity of each.
