Veeam Software Confirms Its Full Support Of VMware VSphere 4, Announced Today By VMware

Veeam nworks Management Pack and SPI Will Allow Users of Microsoft and HP Management Consoles to Monitor and Manage VMware vSphere 4 Immediately Upon its Availability

Veeam Software, award-winning provider of systems management tools for VMware virtual datacenter environments, today outlined its support for VMware vSphere™ 4, announced today by VMware. The nworks Management Pack (MP) for VMware vSphere 4 for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and the nworks Smart Plug-in (SPI) for VMware vSphere 4 for HP Operations Manager allow IT organizations to leverage their existing investments in Microsoft and HP service management solutions to monitor and manage VMware’s operating system for building the internal cloud. The Veeam nworks products will fully support VMware vSphere 4 immediately upon its general availability.
"Through our work with VMware, Veeam engineers developed seamless integrations to VMware vSphere 4 for current IT service management environments, providing operational velocity and efficiency to our customers," said Ratmir Timashev, Veeam Software president and CEO. "IT departments are transforming from an infrastructure focus to a service management focus, which is totally dependent on getting accurate and timely data from VMware vSphere 4, the industry’s first operating system for building the internal cloud, and applying this data intelligently in their operations tool of choice."
"Enabling our alliance partners to build product offerings on top of VMware vSphere 4 and VMware vCenter™ Server is a high priority for VMware," said Shekar Ayyar, VMware vice president, infrastructure alliances. "Veeam continues to deliver valuable add-on capabilities and integrations for VMware customers. Integration of our cloud operating system into existing service management architectures will provide continuing investment protection for our mutual customers."
The foundational technology behind both Veeam nworks products, the nworks Collector, gathers data using the VMware vSphere 4 API, and transforms this information into natively consumable data for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and HP Operations Manager for Windows and Unix. Close integration into the Ops Mgr Health Model and OM Service Tree frees IT operations staff to focus on the task of running IT, not integrating new technology.
At the same time, Veeam also announced its commitment to fully support VMware vSphere 4 and VMware vCenter Server via Veeam’s other products within 90 days of vSphere general availability.
Future-proofed solutions from Veeam
The nworks MP and SPI from Veeam are VMware Ready™ Optimized products, validated as being architected, tuned or integrated to best leverage VMware functionality. A compliance testing process helps enable optimized levels of integration, functionality, and performance, while adhering to VMware’s architectural and supportability requirements.
