Unitrends Adds Veteran Leadership to Management Team, Continuing Expansion
Unitrends, the #1 provider of all-in-one backup, archiving, instant recovery, and disaster recovery solutions, today announced the addition of two industry veterans to its executive management team. Jennifer Sullivan, former vice president of marketing at Nasuni, and Mark Croson, former vice president of global customer support at FileTek, have joined the Unitrends executive management team. Sullivan joins as vice president of marketing. Croson joins as vice president of customer support.
“Unitrends is very excited to expand our senior leadership team with such strong credentials," said Mike Coney, CEO Unitrends. "To not just succeed, but knock it out of the park in a hypercompetitive market, we need leaders who understand the needs of an emerging growth company combined with providing the customer and partner experience you would expect from a top-tier enterprise. The combined experience of Jennifer and Mark, along with our existing leadership bench strength, is absolutely critical in developing a world-class organization and continuing our momentum."
Sullivan brings more than 20 years of marketing experience and will be responsible for driving Unitrends’ worldwide marketing strategy. While at Nasuni, she worked collaboratively with sales, business development and engineering to create new marketing strategies that helped accelerate customer demand. Prior to Nasuni, she managed both inside sales and marketing teams to support several companies through their acquisitions, IPO and growth stages including Ounce Labs, Plateau, Unica, and RSA.
“Unitrends has exploded in the market over the last couple of years under new leadership and is already making the lives of thousands of IT managers less stressful by providing an all-in-one backup and recovery approach to their heterogeneous environments. Our loyal customers and strong partnerships have driven Unitrends’ emergence into a dominant player in the backup and recovery space. I want to continue this trend, build additional communities with MVPs, MCSEs, and extend our reach so that more people can benefit from what Unitrends has to offer,” said Sullivan. “Our greatest challenge is getting the word out as we’ve been rather quiet about our success. We’ll accomplish that this year through high-velocity direct and channel-focused efforts, with a continued emphasis on customer success and ease of doing business with Unitrends. IT has enough to worry about, let Unitrends be the strongest arrow in their quiver.”
Before joining Unitrends, Croson served as vice president of customer support services at FileTek. Croson was responsible for worldwide customer support operations, customer satisfaction, and ensuring that FileTek customers received superior technical support and customer service. Croson has also held technical and management positions at Storage Technology Corporation, Citicorp, Federal Systems Group, and Bell Atlantic Business Systems Services. "Unitrends’ reputation for long-term and value-based customer relationships is unparalleled," said Croson. "I am excited to build on Unitrends’ success by helping us deliver uncompromising support. We all know that when faced with backup issues, and more importantly, recovery activities, IT needs immediate and unfailing help. Unitrends should enable our customers to rapidly recover and continue normal business operations. It’s an exciting time to join the company and build a support organization that helps expand and extend our solutions and services which will further differentiate Unitrends in the marketplace.
