Just over a year ago, Symantec established the Endpoint Virtualization Group, bringing together technologies from Altiris, AppStream and Nsuite under one umbrella with the goals of giving users a flexible rich desktop experience, while keeping a handle on costs and enhancing control of the desktop environment. With all the right components in place, the Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite (EVS) is becoming a compelling option for enhancing virtual and traditional desktop implementations. 

Not to be confused with the client side hypervisor initiatives from Citrix (XenClient) or VMware (vClient), this technology is best described as a workspace management solution. EVS virtualizes the endpoint, providing users a common desktop experience regardless of whether they use a rich (fat) client, thin client, or web browser.
