Softricity® Releases ZeroTouch
Today application virtualization expert, Softricity, released their new product called ZeroTouch. ZeroTouch is designed to continue Softricity’s vision of making application deployments, management, and usage as easy as electricity. What am I talking about? Check out this killer video Softricity put together and you will learn more.
I really like this as I’ve been working with computers since the early days of mainframe computing that they talk about in the video and it really makes sense to me to compute in a virtualized environment. As you learn from the video, ZeroTouch is Softricity’s web interface but with a huge twist. Unlike Citrix’s web interface, it will allow an end-user to self provision an application based on the rules IT has set upon that piece of software and or user membership. It also has intelligence built in that will present the end-user with the best type of application, local or Citrix / Terminal Services, based upon numerous criteria, such as connection speed and/or type of device. It does all the work for you and it spits out tons of useful reports too.
I’ve been playing with ZeroTouch for the past few months and I’ve been dying to tell people about it but I was sworn to secrecy, so now I’m free to talk and what I have to say is that I really like what ZeroTouch. It has given me a common interface for both my local and remote applications, no matter where I am, based upon where I am and for me that is important. Of course, there are still things I’d like to see them put into the product, but it hits the mark of adding functionality I’ve wanted for some time now.
So, take a peak at ZeroTouch and you will not be disappointed.
