DABCC, Inc was formed in 2004 to help others in overcoming the technical hurdles in planning, supporting and deploying Server Based Computing solutions through:
- Providing the premier internet reference site for management, network administrators and technical personnel,
- Designing, developing and implementing software products that solve the ongoing problems faced by management, network administrators and technical personnel. Authoring and publishing white papers on implementation, problem solving, and emerging hardware and software technology .
- Providing the training and seminars necessary to meet both management and technical educational needs.
The history of the company actually begins in January of 1999 when Doug Brown brought the first DABCC.com site on line. The original goal was to provide a site for his friends where they could go to find answers to their technical questions. Over the next five years DABCC.com grew into the reference site for the entire Citrix community.
However, Doug was not content with just adding content. He recognized that many of the smaller companies had problems in managing the deployment of a Citrix based network and started writing what was to become “Methodology In A Box”. Originally intended to be just a guide, MIAB turned into a 450 page manual. Today, it has gone through two major updates, numerous revisions and is one the most successful “How To” manuals in the Citrix Community with over 200,000 downloads. In fact MIAB was voted the best Citrix related document by in 2002 by Windows NT Magazine.
Following the success of MIAB Doug and company decided in 2002 to address another of the major problems being experienced by the server based community, that of auto-created printer drive failures. Over the next year he developed the basic application and database need to identify and correct the failed driver. Now titled “Advanced Print Manager”, Doug announced it at I-Forum to an overflowing session. Once again he had a success on his hands and today APM has been downloaded over 50,000 times.
Recognizing the opportunity to continue in this vein and understanding that it would ultimately more than a part time effort, Doug decided to take the next step and form a company to expand on his initial efforts.
It was with this decision that DABCC was born.
