Scalent Extends HP BladeSystem Virtualization With Support for HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 and HP ProLiant BL495c Virtualization Blade Server
Scalent V/OE Software Enables HP Customers to Manage, Automate, and Failover Mixed Physical and Virtual Environments Between HP Hardware, Improving Data Center Flexibility
Scalent Systems, the leader in real-time management and automation software for virtual and physical infrastructure, today announced pending extension of the Scalent V/OE software support for HP BladeSystem. Scalent V/OE is resold by HP as part of the HP BladeSystem Solution Builder Program.
"We are pleased to extend our support of HP BladeSystem customers with pending support for HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 and the HP ProLiant BL495c Virtualization Blade Server," said Kevin Epstein, VP Marketing of Scalent Systems. "Scalent’s non-disruptive approach to infrastructure virtualization has been deployed across many of the Fortune 500 to dramatically improve utilization and agility of the physical and virtual servers in their data centers."
Scalent’s software is unique in its ability to provide real-time data center management, automation, and virtualization across physical and virtual servers, networks, and storage. Scalent V/OE software enables data centers to react in real time to changing business needs by shifting workloads and connectivity: by dynamically changing entire bare-metal or virtualized systems and associated topologies — including which servers are running, what software is running on them, and how they’re connected to network and storage — without requiring physical changes to the underlying hardware infrastructure. This ability to make real-time server software, network connectivity and storage access changes adds greater infrastructure flexibility, drives down costs and increases deployment and failover capabilities of data center systems.
Implemented in an HP environment, Scalent V/OE software lets customers seamlessly add, swap, and failover between blade servers or other HP server hardware, while transparently maintaining the consistency and integrity of their business systems. Combined with HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 and HP ProLiant BL495c Virtualization Blade Server, HP BladeSystem customers are able to take advantage of new levels of infrastructure management and operational flexibility.
"Customers want to save money and reduce risk associated with deploying or repurposing racks of networked servers," said Mark Potter, vice president and general manager, BladeSystem, HP. "The combination of HP BladeSystem with HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 and Scalent V/OE software improves infrastructure operations for IT administrators."
About Scalent Systems
Scalent Systems is the leading provider of Real-time Management and Automation software for virtual and physical infrastructure to data centers worldwide. Scalent’s software enables data centers to react to changing business needs by dynamically changing what servers are running and how those servers are connected to network and storage. The result is effectively "cloud control": a real-time infrastructure, where data centers can transition between different configurations — or from dead bare metal to live connected servers — in five minutes or less, without physical intervention. Using Scalent software, companies have been able to implement cost-effective solutions while reducing server counts, simplifying manageability, and increasing reliability. Many of the Fortune 1000 companies rely on Scalent to support their success, having adopted the software as an integral part of their business continuity, QA test infrastructure automation, and IT operations. Scalent Systems is based in Palo Alto, with offices worldwide. Scalent’s software is available globally both direct and through partners and resellers.
