SanDisk flash storage available for VMware Virtual SAN
SanDisk is actively supporting VMware in our Virtual SAN™ launch, providing high-performing, high-endurance flash drives that enable enterprise-class scalability while minimizing IO storage latency for read and write operations.
The partnership of VMware and SanDisk on Virtual SAN™ was announced in a December press release, and discussed again at the VMware Partner Exchange (PEX) in February.
SanDisk SAS enterprise solid state drives (SSDs), available in Dell PowerEdge® R720 and PowerEdge® T620 servers, have been certified by VMware as a supported flash tier of VMware Virtual SAN™. The combination of SanDisk SSDs with Dell servers allows customers to fully leverage its built-in caching and high resiliency capabilities to minimize storage latency, while preventing data loss in the event of disk, host or network failures.
