Hi All,I have tricky situation. I have a production citrix server with name ABC.domain. I would like to shutdown for sometime and bring up another new server with same name ABC.domain. I may need to roll it back for some strange reasons later. Will there be any issues in the citrix environment if I bring up another server with same name (while the original is in shutdown state).Does our citrix license server authorise/accept the new server which has the same name as old box?Thank you!...

End User Experiance?

End User Experience - a very subjective topic - but how do you measure the before and after situation when deploying Citrix. We have a large site running Terminal Services, and before the outlay of millions on Citrix, how can we measure end user experience. We have SCOM, Solarwinds etc that can measure LAN/WAN, latency times etc. but prove it. All very well saying Citrix will improve the End User Experience but a different matter all together in proving it. Has anybody spent some time establish...

I installed my permanent licenses for Xenapp 5.0 on my license server however i'm still getting a warning when logging in that says:Citrix License Warning NoticeThis product is using an Evaluation license for Citrix Presentation Server. This license expires in 35 day(s). Please contact Citrix to renew your license. The unauthorized use of software is a criminal offense......Citrix says you can't get rid of it and you have to let it expire. Does anyone know of a way to kill this?...

Memory Tuning on x86 Xenapp 5.0

Our apps are all x86 however I installed w2k3 enterprise to allow me to allocate more memory to the system. What memory tuning can I do that won't affect the Xenapp software? I read somewhere that the 3GB switch is not supported in the boot.ini file. I did set the page file to max and to not grow. Is there anything else that is recommended? I have Legato/AX software that allows users to call up drawing viewers to view documents and I fear that this could be very memory intensive....

RE: Publishing Desktop to users (XenApp v5) - Secure? Recommended?

Citrix doesn't have support for R2 today. There is a "Tech Preview" available for download.
http://deliver.citrix.com/go/citrix/xar2_techpreview
Tough I'd mention it so you don't build out servers like I did before finding out ;-)

How you roll this out is completely based on your environment and what kind of applications you have. We currently have about 3000 people spread out over 78 offices, we push out a complete desktop. &...

RE: Publishing Custom Application.

It may be too late but just in case, this issue might be due to the app needed access to certain registry or system files (or a system location) which has been locked down. Your best bet would be to Stream the application rather than publishing it....
