Quest vWorkspace and Imprivata OneSign Tap in Tap Out Single Sign On
After working with a customer (Oxon Health Informatics Service, OHIS) I thought it would be good to share the single sign on, tap in and tap out solution we put together. OHIS provides IT support for the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital NHS Trust and the driver was provide secure and flexible roaming desktops for the clinical staff. They already had Imprivata’s OneSign (http://www.imprivata.com/onesign_sso) and this is how we integrated it with Quest vWorkspace. I worked closely with Caleb Grant and thank him for his help and knowledge of Imprivata and allowing us to share the scripts.
The integration centres around proving NHS smart card tap in and tap out functionally for users with a Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services Desktop. There are a number of ways in which such an implementation can take shape with Imprivata, it’s a powerful and flexible product. This article looks at one possible way which worked best for us.
