COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Aug. 23 – PremiTech, maker of the award-winning Performance Guard(R) platform which delivers systems management from the end user perspective, today announced the immediate availability of Performance Guard version 5.1. The new offering includes granular web and client/server application transaction monitoring as well as new support for Microsoft Windows Vista(TM) and Windows XP 64-bit editions under its software- as-a-service (SaaS) model.
This actual performance information allows an organization’s helpdesk and IT departments to provide proactive service before problems occur, and to quickly determine the root cause of a problem when it does occur.
Industry-breaking real transaction monitoring by all real users all the time
In most complex IT operations, traditional server-side systems management solutions are well-suited to manage specific data center resources. However, PremiTech’s Performance Guard solution is the only solution of its kind to deliver real-time data on IT system performance based on an end-point perspective (PCs and other devices connected to the network) – also including proactive assessment for new operating systems such as Vista. The new release of Performance Guard extends traditional systems by monitoring the actual web or client/server application transactions, or groups of transactions, as they are performed by all real users of all applications all the time. This enables IT staff to see how all systems work for all users, not just a select set of systems and transactions that was configured in advance. The latest release also includes enhancements in how you setup and monitor Citrix user login transactions and the grouping of such users and servers.

Easy migration to Windows Vista and Windows XP x64 bit edition under the new Software-as-a-Service model
The same release also includes new support for the new Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows XP 64-bit edition under the SaaS model. This enables customers to implement Performance Guard to monitor all the existing end user devices over a period of time and get actual performance information to plan a smooth Vista or x64 migration – all within a one-month window. This prevents unnecessary investments in new hardware and software until needed. In cases where customers would like to keep a close eye on the performance of migrated resources, the service is simply extended monthly as long as the customer deems it beneficial.
Enhanced Citrix Monitoring
PremiTech continues to enhance functionality on the broad platform in addition to specific functionality. In the 5.1 release, emphasis is placed on monitoring Citrix users more efficiently. This includes much faster and detailed Citrix login monitoring as well as advanced grouping of Citrix servers into manual or Citrix server-farm groups.
