Parallels reaches OS on Mac virtualization milestone
Parallels has released a Final Candidate pre-release beta of its virtualisation software for Intel macs, called Parallels Desktop Release Candidate for Mac.
The software isn’t just a dual-boot solution, as it allows users to use Windows, Linux and any other operating system at the same time as Mac OS X, more akin to Virtual PC.
A free, fully functional download version of the software is available now. Interested users can also pre-order the full release version of the software at the reduced price of $39.99, $10 beneath the projected regular retail price.
Parallels Desktop Release Candidate for Mac offers extensive OS support, including: any version of Windows (3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT, XP, 2003), any Linux distribution, FreeBSD, Solaris, OS/2, eComStation, or MS-DOS in secure virtual machines running alongside Mac OS X.
