OpenStack Summit Austin – Recap Part 1 of 2
It was a big show, and lots of activity was happening all over Austin as a result of this year’s spring OpenStack Summit. There are two OpenStack Summits per year to align with the release cycle of the platform.
The Austin event was packed with some very interesting vendors, a strong community, lots of new faces, and lots of familiar friends. All of which came together to take another step in the life of the open cloud ecosystem.
These are a few of my observations from the event.
Analysts at OpenStack
Like it or not, we have analysts in the industry who are influential in getting products and platforms in front of a lot of companies through products like research papers and, of course, the famous Gartner Magic Quadrant. The challenge around analysts discovering and getting behind a platform is that it often steers out of the developer and operations space, and up the ladder to the CxO offices.
