Microsoft shows off the next version of Terminal Services! – A MUST SEE
First look at Terminal Services Application Remoting!
Microsoft shows off the next version of Terminal Services!! Check out this video interview with Tad Brockway, Microsoft’s Terminal Services Group Program Manager. In this video, Tad discusses what Terminal Services is and why you might want to use it. He even talks a bit about Longhorn’s Remote Programs (Project RAIL, Remote Application Integrated Locally) and the new HTTPS Gateway for RDP.
The interview includes a demo which this makes this “A Must See.” The new Terminal Services version uses a management console to package remote application connection files and icons and and installs them in the correct locations on the local machine. Then when the user double-clicks on one of these links, the application is seamlessly launched from the remote terminal server. It looks awesome! The Demo also shows an early crude web interface.
This is only part of the video. The video also takes you through the halls of the Terminal Services team to give us a look at how and why they do what they do. They also hint a lot a about what they want to do. All in all this is an awesome view of the Microsoft Terminal Services team. I loved it!!! A must see!
