| OK, we are now ready to deploy the MetaFrame Password Manager Agent to end-user devices and MetaFrame XP servers. This can be done two ways, 1) manually, as documented below and or 2) through Installation Manager, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SMS, Novel ZenWorks, or any other application deployment package. Once you have defined how you will deploy the client you will need to verify the devices you will be deploying the MetaFrame Password Manager Agent to meets the following system requirements. Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 (SP6a), Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP 120 MHz Pentium-compatible processor (233Mhz Pentium-compatible processor recommended) 32 Mb RAM (64Mb RAM recommended) 4-7 Mb hard drive space for the agent (depending on installation options) Hard drive space for user data Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5SP2/6.0SP1 or above with 128-bit encryption Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0: 20 Mb hard drive space (if not present and if used) Microsoft MDAC package: I recommend version 2.8 which can be downloaded from . The following defines how to install the MetaFrame Password Manager agent on a MetaFrame XP Server and or a stand-alone Microsoft Windows workstation. 1. If you will be deploying the agent of a MetaFrame XP Server you will be required to set the Windows 2000 and or Windows Server 2003 to be ready for an application to be installed via the change user command. Click the Start button Click Run type: CMD and click OK. At the command prompt type: change user /install and hit the enter key. Type Exit to close the command window. 2. Browse to the location of the custom MetaFrame Password Manager Agent MSI file created in the previous section and double click to execute it. 3. Click Next to continue.  4. Click the I accept the terms in the license agreement radio button to accept the license agreement and click Next to continue.  5. Click the Custom radio button and click Next to contiune.  6. Click Install to start the installation.  7. When setup is finished copying the file and installing the services you will be required to click Finish to complete the installation of the Password Manger Agent.  8. Click Yes to reboot the MetaFrame XP server. 9. Repeat the above steps on every workstation and or server you would like to manage passwords on. |
