| The MetaFrame Secure Access Manager Console is wizard-driven, centralized management console which allows administrators to configure the entire MetaFrame Secure Access Manager infrastructure as well as look and feel components. The MetaFrame Secure Access Manager Console runs as a Microsoft MMC plug-in. You can install the MetaFrame Secure Access Manager Console on any Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 or XP machine with the Microsoft .NET Framework installed. Within the MetaFrame Secure Access Manager Console folders and pages can be created and configured with access roles to designate corporate services. The default look and feel of MetaFrame Secure Access Managers framework can be easily branded and customized to suit any corporation from the MetaFrame Secure Access Manager Console and CDAPad. Within the MetaFrame Secure Access Manager Console administrators can configure the following: Multi-site-farm administration Multi-server administration Role configuration and access rights Folder creation Page creation and layout CDA, Web Part and Content importation Import/Export sites Branding Note: User accounts accessing a published Access Management Console via MetaFrame XP require administrative permissions on the State Server. The MetaFrame XP Server hosting the Access Management Console must be in a domain trusted by the State server domain. The following details how to install the Access Management Console on a MetaFrame XP server and or a stand-alone workstation. 1. From the Welcome window click Next.  2. Agree to the licensing and click Next.  3. Select Management components and click next.  4. The following window sets the installation directory. Generally the defaults are acceptable; if not, select the desired directory and click Next.  5. The next window allows the installer to confirm the installation configurations. If the information is correct click Next.  6. The installation is complete. Click Finish to exit the wizard.  You have now successfully installed MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.0. If during the design phase you selected to install additional Agent and or Web Servers then repeat the above steps and choose the appropriate components in step 6. To make the Access Management Console available as a published application, publish the MMC executable with the path to the Access Management Console snap-in (.msc file) as a command-line parameter. 1. Install the Access Management Console, as detailed above, on the desired MetaFrame XP server(s). 2. In the Management Console for MetaFrame XP right click on the Applications folder and click Publish Applications. 3. In the Command Line text box, type the correct path to mmc.exe and the Access Management Console snap-in installed on the MetaFrame XP server. The path must be enclosed in quotation marks if it contains spaces, as shown below. mmc.exe C:\Program Files\Citrix\MetaFrame Secure Access Manager\PMC\Access Management Console.msc  4. Complete the wizard to publish the Access Management Console. You are now ready to manage the MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.0 Access Center through a published Access Management Console. Do note that only one instance of the Access Management Console can have management control of an access server farm at a time. |
