| The Conference Organizer is the component that keeps track of the location of the meetings and load information. It runs as a Windows Service and can be run on any server within a MetaFrame XP server farm or on a server within the same domain as the MetaFrame Conferencing Manager User interface and the Conference Room component. Citrixs best practice suggests that the Conference Organizer components be installed on one of the domain servers or any one of the Conference Room component servers. Note: Only one instance of the Conference Organizer service per server farm is required and used. The following defines how to install the Conference Organizer service. 1. Insert the Citrix MetaFrame Conferencing Manager 2.0 CDROM and click the Install Citrix MetaFrame Conferencing Manger button. 2. Click Next to continue. 3. Click the I accept the license agreement radio button and click Next. 4. Specify the default location for the Citrix MetaFrame Conferencing Manager application files and click Next to continue. 5. Right click on the Citrix MetaFrame Conference Manager and Conference Room nodes to select Not Available. Verify only the Conference Organizer is installed and click Next. 6. Click Next to continue 7. Click Finish to continue 8. Enter the NetBIOS name, FQDN or IP address of a primary and backup (optional) MetaFrame XP server and the XML port address to which to connect to. Click OK when finished. You have now successfully configured the Citrix MetaFrame Conferencing Managers Conference Organizer and are ready to install the remaining two components on the MetaFrame XP server(s). Note: You might experience issues with the Conference Organizer service not starting when installed in a standalone configuration, as documented above. As a workaround, start the service manually. |
