About this Show
In the following DABCC Virtualization Video Podcast, Douglas Brown interviews Kevin Goodman, CEO and Founder of RTO Software. Doug and Kevin discuss RTO Software's Discover software solution that allows deep discovery of applications, network devices, servers and clients in your IT infrastructure by tracking application dependencies, application inventory, configuration changes and licensing information.
About RTO Software Discover
Discover is an agent-less network discovery, application asset inventory, and configuration inventory and auditing tool for IT organizations. Discover installs on any Windows XP Professional or Vista workstation, Windows 2000 Server or 2003 Server, and discovers all IP-addressable devices on the target network or Windows domain of the device it is run from. Discover installs in minutes, does not require a database installation, and will scan a network of 700 IP addresses in approximately one hour.
Key features of RTO Discover that delivers on these customer needs include the following:
- Simplifies Asset Management - Allows users to identify differences from standard software and hardware configurations and take corrective action as necessary. Helps IT managers circumvent some of the problems associated with maintaining hundreds of applications in a typical infrastructure.
- Manages Software Licenses Efficiently – Maintains comprehensive and up-to-date information about application software licenses including deployment locations, number of licenses, when they expire, the users who have been assigned the licenses and more. This helps IT staff to obtain near real-time information about license usage to meet compliance requirements in the event of an audit.
- Tracks Every IT Asset in Detail – Tracks assets and provides the ability to drill-down to identify and annotate the asset as applicable and obtain multiple views by running queries as the situation demands. This allows IT users to view the complete details on a software or hardware asset and export/report the results as needed.
