In Episode 136, Douglas Brown interviews Ken Latimer, Senior Director Program Management and Alex Rosemblat, Product Marketing Manager at VKernel. Alex, Ken, and Doug discuss the 20 Key VMware performance metrics VKernel have learned to be issues in VMware virtualization environments. Alex and Ken will also discuss VKernel’s new Capacity Management Suite and how they can be used to assist in overcoming these 20 key metrics and more.
Virtualization introduces new challenges for managing the data center: Applications now compete for shared, dynamic infrastructure resources such as storage, CPU, and memory. Ken Latimer, Senior Director Program Management
Ken has more than 31 years of experience in the development, manufacture, and marketing of high technology products. In his current position, Ken guides the generation and evolution of VKernel’s products while interacting internally and externally to meet desired demands. Prior to VKernel, Ken founded Net to Net Technologies and served as chairman and CEO growing revenues to $20 million for the provider of broadband access equipment. Earlier, he was vice president of engineering for Cabletron from 1993-1998, leading an organization of over 650 engineering professionals with an annual budget of approximately $100 million. Ken also spent 20 years with Unisys Corporation (formerly Sperry Corporation), where he was ultimately the general manager of the Intel Platforms Division. Ken served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970, and received his Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Utah.
Alex Rosemblat, Product Marketing Manager
As the Product Marketing Manager at VKernel, Alex Rosemblat studies the system administrator’s user experience and evaluates customer needs and functional requirements. Previously, Alex has held a variety of product design, program management, and pre-sales roles in online data backup, enterprise healthcare systems, and knowledge management software. Alex holds a BS in Commerce specializing in IT Management from the University of Virginia and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
