Hyperconverged Solutions Virtual SAN vs. Nutanix Performance Testing
You might have already seen the following posts from Chuck Hollis (one of our Virtual SAN resident experts) about VSAN vs. Nutanix performance testing, however, if you have not, not to fret. The 4-part series had such good information for our customers that we couldn’t help but share the awesomeness again. We want to make sure you are making informed IT choices – the more information you have at your fingertips, the better decisions you will make. While not everyone may care about absolute performance, almost everyone would care about having to pay much more to get equivalent work done.
Nutanix and VMware Virtual SAN (VSAN) are popular hyperconverged solutions in the marketplace today – so it’d make sense to compare the two products. Let’s deep-dive into the 4-part series:
- VSAN vs Nutanix Head-to-Head Performance Testing — Part 1 – Two identical four-node clusters were configured – one running Nutanix, and one running native vSphere with VSAN enabled. Details of the test bed are highlighted in this blog
- VSAN vs Nutanix Head-to-Head Performance Testing — Part 2 – Because Nutanix declined their consent for us to publish the head-to-head results, this 2nd part of the blog displays a sampling of the VSAN-only results
- VSAN vs Nutanix Head-to-Head Performance Testing — Part 3 – In this 3rd series, we focus on head-to-head VMmark tests. VMmark looks at overall consolidation ratios when running a variety of real application workloads. While not the easiest benchmark to set up and run, it has served as a useful estimator of overall cluster performance
- VSAN vs. Nutanix — Head-to-Head Performance Testing — Part 4 — Exchange! – In this final series, we highlight how our Virtual SAN 4-node cluster supports 1000 busy Exchange users with stellar performance.
