Today at Nutanix .NEXT Conference, we will demo Tectonic, CoreOS’ platform that combines the CoreOS stack plus Kubernetes, on Nutanix. When technologies like Nutanix come together with technologies like Tectonic, the promise of container technology is easier to grasp. This is hyper-converged infrastructure with hyperscale.

What is Tectonic

Tectonic was developed by CoreOS, the company that created and maintains CoreOS Linux, etcd, rkt, fleet, flannel and many other open source projects that support containerized infrastructure. Tectonic is CoreOS’ commercial product that combines the CoreOS stack plus Kubernetes to provide an easy way for companies to see the benefits of containers quickly. Tectonic also provides a management console, corporate SSO integration, and an enterprise ready container registry. Many of the philosophies we live by here at CoreOS, were inspired by how Google runs their infrastructure and achieves scale. The goal of Tectonic is to provide this Google-like infrastructure for everyone else. We call this GIFEE.
