HPE Moonshot Reinvented
HPE Moonshot have been around for some time now, and I have been very lucky working together with HPE and testing their server catridges that is compatible with Citrix solutions. Last year, at HPE Discover in London, I wrote an article about how Citrix internally are using HPE moonshot and which server catridges was available at that time and how finance customers are benefiting from these solutions.
Now HPE have a new server catridges available plus there is new appliances that targets new business opportunity for SMB/medium customers. Before you had to buy a Moonshot 1500 solution that was a 4.5 U chassis, where you could add up to 45 server catridges. This have changed and new offerings are now available from HPE. The new offerings from HPE are Edgeline. HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged IoT System support 1 HPE Proliant server cartridge and HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System, which support up to 4 HPE Proliant server cartridges. This is great for business that would like CPU/GPU/Fast storage and IO in small capacity but requires fast performance. These appliances are also build for IoT systems. This means that HPE Moonshot is a more accessible solution for companies no matter their size or demand.
Talking to Olivier Frank, Sales Director from HPE Moonshot & Edgeline business unit, he gave me his view on their strategy, and where they are heading now.
