HP CEO Meg Whitman on SkyCanvas and “As-a-Service” Trends

On Thursday, October 9, more than 100 IT executives gathered at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco for Entisys Solutions’ 2014 Executive Technology Exchange. There, they heard perspectives from industry leaders on “The New Style of IT.”

In reflecting on the event, Entisys’ CEO Mike Strohl said, “Our 2014 Executive Technology Exchange in San Francisco was a tremendous success. Our distinguished panelists shared some incredible insights on how IT organizations can become a driving force in promoting the innovative work styles of tomorrow, today.”

Among those distinguished guests were HP CEO Meg Whitman, who shared the stage with Entisys CEO Mike Strohl to discuss how HP is helping customers achieve positive business outcomes in the New Style of IT.  “The New Style of IT demands that partners and vendors work collaboratively to help their customers tap into the power of technology to drive growth and achieve business outcomes,” said Meg Whitman, chairman and chief executive officer, HP who spoke at the Entisys event. “Entisys exemplifies the ‘new style of partnering’ that is critical for both vendors and partners to thrive in the New Style of IT.”

Attendees at the 2014 Executive Technology Exchange also learned how cloud, security, big data and mobility are coming together to help organizations improve the way in which they connect with their employees, their customers, business partners and other key stakeholders.

Entisys Solutions’ notable panelists included Carlos Ramos, CIO for the State of California; K.C. Choi, Vice President, Enterprise Group for HP; Al Monserrat, Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, Citrix; and, John Papazian, CTO of MobileHandshake.

One of the highlights from the panel discussion was the conversation around Skycanvas, a division of Entisys Solutions that focuses on helping its clients roadmap and execute against “The New Style of IT.” It was noted during the discussion that the work Entisys is doing to develop unique industry services, such as Skycanvas, is what defines the type of partner companies should be working with in today’s complex, and highly competitive IT environment.

To round out the 2014 Executive Technology Exchange program, in a video message to attendees, Citrix CEO, Mark Templeton shared his perspectives on how Citrix is “software-defining the workplace, and bringing the concept of “any app, any device, any place” to fruition. In the video, Templeton highlighted Citrix solutions that support borderless collaboration and workflow continuity and productivity, all in a secure environment.

Sponsors for the 2014 Executive Technology Exchange included HP, Citrix, iGEL Technology, and Varonis.
