Gazzang, Inc., a provider of data and application security for the cloud, today announced it has joined the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solution Provider Program. Gazzang’s products will enable Amazon customers to enhance their security by providing a high performance encryption engine for data protection, access control and key management.

The AWS Solution Provider Program enables independent software vendors such as Gazzang, as well as systems integrators, interactive agencies and channel partners, to broaden their suite of offerings and expand their customer base while driving new revenue streams. The Program supports member organizations’ operational and IT requirements as they migrate their business and customer base to a cloud computing environment.

“Gazzang products have been built in the cloud for customers who require extreme scalability and rapid deployment of cloud services,” said Larry Warnock, CEO at Gazzang. “Our on-demand, high-performance cloud security model puts the power of encryption, access control and key management services within reach for thousands of Amazon customers. We are excited to be working together with the AWS team and look forward to bringing a rich portfolio of new cloud data security services to market.”

Gazzang’s solutions address the complex technical challenges of protecting data in multi-tenancy, high performance and big data environments, without requiring changes to underlying databases or applications. Specifically, Gazzang’s ezNcrypt Flex Platform™ solution enables customers to protect, encrypt and provide key management for open source databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Cassandra; web servers such as Apache, Nginx and Tomcat; and any other Linux applications. The solution installs within minutes and leverages an advanced key management system that allows customers to create, control and administer their own keys – capabilities that are typically reserved for more expensive, complex commercial databases.
