Fast Serv Leverages R1Soft CDP to Add Value and Maximize Resources

Managed hosting provider Fast Serv Networks today revealed details regarding its implementation of R1SoftContinuous Data Protection® (CDP) as the software behind its managed backup solutions. R1Soft CDP backups are included with Fast Serv’s cPanel Web hosting plans and offered as an add-on to its virtual and dedicated server offerings.

The cross-platform CDP product brings significant efficiencies – both in implementation and systems administration – to Fast Serv. Using CDP, Fast Serv can manage backups for Windows or Linux servers from a centralized interface, with data backups stored in a disk-based data repository. Further, CDP’s low-impact asynchronous data backups extend cross-platform for full protection of MySQL databases

“R1Soft CDP fits our needs perfectly” explained Randy McAnally, CEO of Fast Serv. “CDP has an unmatched price-to-features ratio, allowing us to provide an effective and reliable backup solution to our customers at an affordable price.”

Fast Serv also finds great benefit in CDP’s disaster recovery features. In the unfortunate event that client data is damaged or erased, Fast Serv can completely restore the client’s file system with a few clicks of the mouse using CDP’s Bare-Metal Restore feature.

“With the addition of R1Soft Continuous Data Protection, Fast Serv gains more than just a full-featured data backup and disaster recovery solution” said David Wartell, vice president of R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies. “With CDP, Fast Serv can increase both sales and ROI even as customer satisfaction improves. Everyone wins.”

About Fast Serv
Fast Serv Networks, LLC was founded in 2003 in San Diego, California originally as a high bandwidth streaming media provider. Due to customer demand in late 2004, website and email hosting, fully managed dedicated servers and colocation became a standard offering. Fast Serv is privately owned, and remains completely debt-free with a self-funded growth of over 75% per year from 2003 to present.

Expansion to an additional data center location in Ashburn, VA and offices near Washington DC began in 2006 to add geographic redundancy and disaster recovery (DR) options. Today, we can serve any managed hosting need from either SAS70 certified data center combined with an industry leading support and up time guarantee.
