Deploy the AWS Cloud Infrastructure for SAS Grid with New Quick Start
This Quick Start is for IT infrastructure architects, administrators, and DevOps professionals who are planning to implement or extend their SAS workloads on the AWS Cloud. SAS Grid is a shared, centrally managed analytics computing environment that features workload balancing and management, high availability, and fast processing. A SAS Grid environment helps you incrementally scale your computing infrastructure over time as the number of users and the size of data grow. It also provides rolling maintenance and upgrades without any disruption to your users. A SAS Grid environment in the AWS Cloud provides the elasticity and agility to scale your resources as needed.
This Quick Start bootstraps the infrastructure for a SAS Grid cluster by provisioning Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances for SAS Grid, SAS Metadata Server, and SAS mid-tier components. It also sets up Intel Cloud Edition for Lustre, which provides a shared directory for the grid.
You can choose to build a new virtual private cloud (VPC) infrastructure that’s configured for security, scalability, and high availability, or use your existing VPC infrastructure. AWS CloudFormation templates automate the deployment and provide customization options for network resources, SAS Grid instances, and Lustre. The Quick Start also includes a guide with detailed information and step-by-step instructions.
