Datadog: SaaS Monitoring Service for IT, Operations and Development Podcast – Episode 227
In episode 227, Douglas Brown interviews Matt Williams, DevOps Evangelist at Datadog. Matt and Douglas discuss Datadog’s SaaS based monitoring service for IT, Operations and Development teams who write and run applications at scale. Matt gives us a detailed explanation on how it works, why we should care, what it takes to get up and running and much more!
Datadog is a monitoring service for scaling cloud and on-prem infrastructures that bridges together data from servers, databases, apps and other tools. We provide Dev and Ops teams with insights from their cloud, on-prem or hybrid environments that keep applications running smoothly.
Real-time monitoring with advanced dashboarding and alerting
Correlation analysis that allows you to see when one system impacted another (events from one system over metrics from another)
Data at full granularity for up to a year for comprehensive historical analysis
Configuration changes, alerts and manual intervention event tracking with the ability to collaborate on those events with an entire team and send the data into other systems such as chat platforms, like HipChat and Slack and alert management systems like Pagerduty, OpsGenie and VictorOps
