Citrix XenApp monitoring, Citrix XenApp concurrent user’s logs and real XenApp Published app logs
In this article we will cover few important aspects that you need to take into consideration when monitoring your mission critical Citrix XenApp farm (or previously known as Presentation server or MetaFrameXP). Sometimes if you are migrating a farm, for example from XenApp 4.5 to XenApp 6.5, you are not able to have centralized logs for both farms. You need to have Citrix Resource Manager for the older XenApp 4.5 and EdgeSight for the new farm, and sometimes Citrix EdgeSight is not included in your license of the XenApp so you need to take care of the Citrix XenApp monitoring by yourself. Not to mention the Citrix EdgeSight is missing some easy-to-understand billing reports from the Citrix Resource Manager.
What Terminal Services Log allows you is to centralize data from multiple farms, and generate reports for all farms from a single place. You can even compare new and old farms, resource usage, users connecting and similar stuff, everything from a single monitoring console.
