Microsoft Azure RemoteApp and Citrix Cloud – An open letter to Microsoft Azure RemoteApp customers
In May 2016, Citrix announced that we are “all in” on the cloud and focused on building the world’s best integrated technologies for the secure delivery of apps and data. On August 12, we announced a major milestone for Citrix Cloud, as well as a major next step in our expanding partnership with Microsoft.
Citrix is introducing a new Citrix application virtualization service—”XenApp Express”—that will serve as the next generation service for Microsoft Azure RemoteApp customers. This revolutionary new app delivery service will combine the speed of Microsoft Azure RemoteApp with many of the enterprise capabilities of Citrix XenApp to create the fastest, simplest way for you to access your app from the cloud.
For all Microsoft Azure RemoteApp customers, I would like to promise, personally, that we are committed to making sure that this new service shares the workflows and experience you love about Microsoft Azure RemoteApp.
We are working very closely with Microsoft to ensure that you do not experience any disruption during this transition, and we’re streamlining our work with Microsoft, unifying our efforts on this project with our work on XenDesktop for Windows 10 on Azure. Our combined efforts create a winning scenario for you, our customers, who will see more streamlined app and desktop delivery with enhanced security and performance from Microsoft Azure, a leading public cloud.
As we shared in our blog post, we will be sharing more information and details for our new service at several events in the coming months. So, stay tuned!
