With the acquisition of RingCube announced recently, we’re fortunate to both welcome an amazing team to Citrix, and to be able to offer in early access in XenDesktop 5.5 to this “WAY cool” technology that achieves the goal of separating user changes from the base image shared by thousands of desktops. RingCube’s VDI Edition changes the way to think about delivering personal virtual desktops – where all changes a user makes to their desktop will persist even when you update the desktops to a new master image. Citrix Profile Manager - Settings to the cloud!
I recently discussed Internet Explorer and Firefox storage of bookmarks and labeled the IE method as superior because it uses individual files for each bookmark where Firefox uses a single file database to store all of the bookmarks. This makes it easier to synchronize bookmarks as an automatic function of user profile management.

Citrix Profile Manager - Does profile inconsitency still exist?
On a customer site visit a year or so back, I had a nice tour of the companies first level support tool (singular). A simple user interface, custom built web based management tool built on top of MFCom and apparently proven very successful. On the first panel they could look up the user to get the user name.
