Atlantis Computing
Atlantis, winner of the Best of VMworld and Best of Citrix Synergy awards, offers the industry’s most flexible and powerful Software-Defined Storage (SDS) platform. Atlantis delivers the performance of an all-flash array at half the cost of traditional storage. Atlantis HyperScale leverages the Atlantis patented SDS platform to deliver all-flash hyperconverged appliances that are 50 to 90 per cent lower cost than traditional storage or other hyperconverged appliances. To date, Atlantis has deployed over 120 petabytes of storage for more than 1,000 mission critical deployments and 1 million virtual workspaces, including some of the largest virtualization deployments in the world. Atlantis is privately held and funded by Adams Street Partners, Cisco Systems, El Dorado Ventures and Partech Ventures, with headquarters in Mountain View, California and offices in Europe.

Atlantis Computing Takes on VDI Performance and Costs Issues

Atlantis Computing 0
One of the biggest knocks against virtual desktop infrastructure is the tax it places on storage area networks (SANs) for I/O performance of desktop applications. Not only are SANs expensive, they are generally being used to run mission-critical databases applications, which means storage administrators don’t have a whole lot of interest in allocating what little […]

At Geek Day! Atlantis Computing: In-Memory Storage for Desktop Virtualization – How to Use RAM As Primary Storage to Cut Costs, Improve User Experience, and Reduce Deployment Risks

Atlantis Computing 0
During the session Mr. Venkatesh will demonstrate how Atlantis ILIO Persistent VDI™ enables Citrix XenDesktop and VMware View customers to deploy VDI immediately using existing images while delivering virtual desktops that are faster and cheaper than PCs. Attendees will see a demonstration of a persistent virtual desktop that is faster than a MacBook Air with […]

FREE TRIAL: Atlantis Computing ILIO Persistent VDI

Atlantis Computing 0
The Persistent Desktop Dilemma Most IT organizations would prefer to deploy persistent virtual desktops because that deployment model is the least disruptive to an IT organization. It uses the same desktop images already deployed on PCs, the same existing tools, and the same processes already in place and perfected over the last several years, to […]

Fastest Virtual Desktop Experience – Atlantis ILIO Persistent VDI 4.0 – desktops running in RAM

Atlantis Computing 0
It’s been quite a while since I’ve been hooked with such a technology and speed. The fact that running VMs in the RAM gets you the best ever performance isn’t new. Some bloggers even used Starwinds iSCSI to create a RAM disk and test the speed…. /CC @esloof. Faster even than an SSD. Running VMs out […]

Atlantis ILIO Persistent VDI 4.0 Released.

Atlantis Computing 0
VDI deployments struggle with costs and performance. According to Gartner, “storage is the No. 1 challenge most IT organizations face when considering virtual desktop (server-hosted virtual desktop or virtual desktop infrastructure) projects. To deliver sufficient performance many solutions are available on the market. Lots of startups emerge with solutions which accelerate storage. Lots of them […]

Atlantis ILIO 4.0 – Persistent Desktops in Memory

Atlantis Computing 0
At the start of this month, Atlantis Computing gave me a preview of their new ILIO Persistent VDI 4.0. As the title of this post suggests, Atlantis have a very nice new feature in this release. Last year, I blogged about their ILIO Diskless VDI for non-persistent desktops which ran purely in memory. That was […]

Optimizing Citrix XenApp for the Virtual Data Center

Atlantis Computing 0
There is a massive install base of customers on Citrix XenApp with Windows Server 2003 that must move to Citrix XenApp 6.5 with Server 2008 R2 by July 2013. When customers migrate to XenApp 6.5, the majority will virtualize XenApp servers to take advantage of the manageability and consolidation benefits of server virtualization. However, the combination of virtualizing XenApp, […]
