Acronis and SolarWinds have teamed up to offer channel partners a VMware vSphere management and backup and recovery solution combined into one package, an idea the vendors said responds to customer feedback.
The package, which includes Acronic’s vmProtect and SolarWinds Virtualization Manager, purchased together is priced at $999 per socket to members of Acronis’ Global Partner program. End user pricing for vmProtect is $599 for one license and Virtualization Manager is priced at $2,995. The companies expect to showcase the solution at the upcoming VMworld conference August 26 – 30 in San Francisco.
Why do Acronis and SolarWinds think this is a good deal for partners? Both companies believe there’s an opening in the market owing to existing VMware management suites not meeting customers’ needs, lacking certain capabilities and priced too high.
