This document provides information about Virtual Computers NxTop solution. This solution uses two main components to provide end-to-end virtualization, NxTop Engine and NxTop Center:
NxTop Engine – runs on each computer and runs virtual machine (VM) images. It includes a bare-metal hypervisor, allowing the VMs to operate the computer's hardware; NxTop Engine does not require an OS loaded directly on the computer, however, it does require one or more valid OS license for any VMs loaded on it. For more detailed information, refer to the NxTop Engine Overview later in this chapter.
NxTop Center – runs on a Windows 2008 R2 server, providing the administration to support each NxTop Engine. A single NxTop Center can administer hundreds of NxTop Engines and laptops or desktops. For more detailed information, refer to the NxTop Center Overview later in this chapter.
