INSTALL CITRIX XENSERVER
1. Install Citrix XenServer
Make sure you have configured the RAID configuration for your server. Enable Virtualization support and the execute bit option in the BIOS configuration of your server.
Download the free XenServer installation software from www.citrix.com and burn the .ISO image on an empty CD-R(W) disk. You can download XenServer here: http://deliver.citrix.com/go/citrix/wbFreeXenServer
Boot the server with the XenServer cd
XenServer will start and the welcome screen will appear:

Press [Enter] to Install or wait a few seconds and the installation will automatically start:

Next choose your keyboard en select [OK]

Next select “ * Install or upgrade XenServer Host” and select [OK]

Next select [OK] for the warning that all data on the disk will be erased.

Read and accept the Citrix EULA and select [Accept EULA] only if you agree with the EULA

Select “Local media (CD-ROM)” as installation source and select [OK]

Do NOT select verify the Installation source, this is selected by default and will take a lot of time.
Select “Skip Verification” and click on [OK]

Enter and confirm the root password for administering XenServer and click on [OK]
Write down the password somewhere save to make sure you will not forget it.
Configure the static Networking configuration to provide your XenServer with a fixed IP address.

Give your XenServer a network name (XENSRV1, XENCTX1, …….)
Optionally you can add DNS servers to the configuration.
Select [OK] to continue

Select your Time Zone and click on [OK]

Select the Time Zone city or area where and click on [OK]

Select ‘Manual time entry’ en click on [OK]

Click on [Install XenServer]
The Installation will take some time depending on the speed of your server.

Enter the current data and time for your time zone and click on [OK]

At the end of the installation remove the installation CD from the cd/dvd drive and click on [OK] to reboot.
If the installation was successful then XenServer will boot.

If the installation was successful then XenServer will boot.

If the server is ready with booting then you can browse through the server console.
2. Install XenCenter
You can manage your XenServer with the XenCenter management software. The installation files for XenCenter have been added to the XenServer installation CD you used to install the XenServer.
Put the installation cd in the cd/dvd drive from the pc/laptop you want to use to manage your XenServer.
Open <your cdrom driveletter>\client_install and execute XenCenter.msi.

The following screen will appear, click on [Next] to continue

Click on [Next] to continue

Click on [Next] to continue

Click on [Install] to continue

Click on [Finish] to end the installation.
You can now start XenCenter through the shortcut on your desktop.

First add your XenServer to the XenCenter.

XenCenter will notify you that you XenServer will require license activation
Select your Xenserver [X] and click on [Activate]
Follow the procedure as displayed on the screen and enter your personal information and email address. You will receive the free license file in the email address you provided.
