VMware just published a blog post regarding new support for ThinApping Internet Explorer 6 and run it on Windows 7. IE6 can be fully virtualized and is working perfectly on Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.
So far does it look very solid and they have tested over 40 add-ons which all work on Windows 7. Many people are working on a migration to Windows 7 and have issues with legacy applications demanding IE6. VMware hopes that this will now be solved.
Besides, ThinApp can now automatically “harvest” IE6 out of any Windows XP instance. This means you can use an XP instance that has the latest security fixes applied, and also capture any plug-ins you want in the same go.
