1989. What were you doing? I was one year out of college and starting my first career for a large Wall Street investment firm as a Treasury bond trader. I was neck-deep in the world of global finance, dealing with major banks and companies around the world. IT and Citrix were the farthest things from my mind. Fast forward to today, 2009, and I'm neck-deep in the world of IT and business convergence, raising the level of conversations on how the Citrix Delivery Center and virtualization lay the foundation to a solid Enterprise Architecture.
This year, Citrix turns 20. They have come a long way from very first version of Citrix MULTIUSER don't you think? What will the next twenty years hold? I can guarantee one thing; Change, and lots of it. Citrix has been there for the past twenty years providing ways for companies to adapt quickly to this change. I don't see any change to that core capability in the next twenty. Whenever I speak about Citrix to clients, I make the same statement, that over the next decade they will be challenged to change in a way that they never have thought of before and for which there is no precedent, and here is where Citrix can help with that challenge.
I"m very excited about being involved with Citrix and equally excited about the next twenty years. The one thing that I admire about Mark T and the rest of the management team is that they are thinking five steps ahead and are striving for higher levels of innovation and I don't mean in just the products they currently have, but also what is not even thought of yet. Keep up the great work everyone and Happy Anniversary.
